November News...

We are moving right along! In November, we remember the soldiers who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. We have shared what Remembrance Day means to us, and we have made poppy's and cards for our soldiers. We are going to take the morning of November 11, and gather together to listen to one student's father, explain the meaning of Remembrance Day via a small presentation.

Progress reports are coming home Monday, November 11. Please take some time to review it with your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.  I am holding interviews Thursday evening for those students whose box I have checked off on the progress report, indicating a meeting sometime that night.  If I have not checked the box on your child's report, than I am not requesting an interview. However, if you have any concerns that you would like to share with Mme Vola and myself, please contact me. We can conduct a phone interview or dedicate some time after school to meet. Thank you!

Since the cold weather is approaching, we thought it would be fun to make some homemade vegetable soup together! We have been learning about fruits and vegetables and thought we would wrap up with some nice warm soup on Friday, November 15. We ask that if you have a vegetable in your fridge or cupboard that would be fun to add, please send it that day. We will wash it and chop it up together! Also, send a plastic bowl and spoon with your child!

We are seeing growth in our classroom in many different ways! Keep in mind that in Kindergarten we learn more than our ABC's.....our learning is extensive. For example, from buttoning up our jackets, to manors when we eat, to how we express our frustrations to learning French words and concepts! Keep up the good work at home! Keep practicing zipping up jackets and reinforce cleaning up after themselves! They can do it!
Merci,
Mme Burnham
Mme Vola
